Because it was the only way to trick Jews into not becoming Christian’s. Jews lost 50% of their race to Christian’s back then as the early Christian’s were all Jews . Do to cope they spent 500 years creating a new religion to counter it called “modern rabbinical Judaism” and the big emphasis is to read Talmud over bible because enable point to Jesus as god but they don’t like this so Rabbi says read Talmud instead
