Why can’t I rep with anything other than the +1 thumb, and why can’t I upload images, this has been going on like a week now

This is a well known bug. People think they're shadow banned or something when they aren't. You can try a few different things to fix it:

1) Log out and log back in.
2) Clear your cookies and then come back.
3) Restart your PC and try again.
4) Try using a different device.

I'm not sure which one fixes it but I know a number of people have had a similar bug in the past.

If you're on a Chromium based browser, go to your settings and find Delete Browsing Data, and then clear cookies. But that is for all sites you used.

Parsing reponse failure tends to mean that you need to reload the page, that's from what I've seen with others with the same issues on iPhone. Most likely Apple's HEIC format not working, needs to be a .png, .jpg/jpeg or .gif

Since I'm also located in the UK, I had a load of emoji's popping up as Imgur placeholders due to the UK thing, it changed when I switched on my VPN

Ah I doubt it, looksmax.org has been a .org domain since 2018. If it was so bad then they would've banned it atleast a year ago now. I know a site I used had the .org domain. It got nuked and so they needed to switch to a .st domain which is from some random African country with no care for who uses their domains as long as they're payed.
