The Final was horribly refereed. Senegal didn’t get a penalty when they should’ve. Morocco got an extremely soft penalty against Senegal and then the Senegal players literally walked off the pitch to boycott the game. When they came back, the penalty was taken, the Moroccan player ( Brahim Diaz) missed and in extra time, Senegal won the game and the tournament


Literally months later, the results of the game were overturned and the trophy was given to Morocco instead because when the Senegal players left the pitch, it counted as a forfeit.

Yeah really, and woah that’s cool, didn’t know he made it that big. Also I had a classmate whose brother played for Feyenoord, which is one of the two biggest clubs in the country here. Back then though he wasn’t an official player but I did hang out with him once lol, pretty funny.
