Smallpox doesn't come from birds(neither chickenpox in fact). Smallpox comes from the Egyptians, it should be called Egyptian pox. Monkeypox was first discovered in some monkeys from Congo, so it should be called Congo pox, or African pox.

No it comes from rodents actually so we are both wrong. Both smallpox and Monkeypox come from African Rodents one coming from north Eastern Africa so Egypt and the other from central and/or Western Africa (monkeypox) nothing to do with monkeys but it may have been discovered in come which is unique as Smallpox cannot jump

Africa isn’t a country and then smallpox would be called africa pox so what would we call monkey pox then? Hell there not even 100% clear proof it’s from Egypt we just know it’s from around that region could have come from the Sinai peninsula which would make it Asian not African. Monkey pox isn’t said to have a direct nation of origin it just comes from west and central Africa that’s all.

The pox should be named a fitting name that makes sense. Monkey pox is dumb as it’s not from monkies and makes people confused as seen in this thread call it something else like the town or city/province it’s from. Ebola is from the Ebola river in the Congo and that’s where Ebola originated hence the name and it makes sense

Egypts in africa , monkeypox isn’t from east south or North Africa so low IQ naming to base it off two regions.
