the risk isn’t worth it for me personally but I can’t make judgements on your life.
I only drink 2 glasses a day but with some fibrous foods to slow its digestion so it doesn’t raise blood sugar, is 100g of sugar a day bad?

Interesting, I look pretty teenagerish for 30 and I’ve been low carb, gluten free for the past 13 years now.

Orange juice is high in fructose which needs to travel to the liver to be processed, and is significantly more capable of causing glycation than plain glucose. Plain glucose isn’t really so bad since it gets taken up pretty quickly in comparison but high amounts are still bad. If you’re gonna carbcel you’re better off getting them primarily from slow digesting complex carbs but there’s really no reason to eat carbs unless you’re an intense exercisecel

So what’s your diet like?
Meat, organs, eggs, fermented dairy products, with a max total intake of 50 grams of carbs a day, primarily in the form of lactose, sometimes glycogen. However, I am a little lactose intolerant, so for me, a lot of those lactose carbs are not digested, and instead act more as a source of “dietary fiber”(in the sense that it is a fermentable substrate in the intestines). I test my blood sugar regularly and it is fairly consistently at 80 mg/dl +-5, even after meals, and milk doesn’t really cause any kind of spike in me.

How much protein do you get per day?

Anecdotally I’ve noticed that a lot of people who adopt such diets tend to look younger than their age and have better skin quality. I think it’s the best way of eating for preserving one’s appearance anyways.

Isnt fructose needed to make cholesterol and therefore testosterone and estrogen

Not wearing sunscreen and alcohol/drugs are the two biggest causing of aging. Sunscreen is 85% of aging, alcohol/drugs are 5-10%

I don’t think so? Can’t say I’m too well versed in that. But even suppose it was needed in minute amounts to create cholesterol, I’m not sure how this would warrant eating 100 grams a day

All the moving avis in this thread are annoying af

You mean not wearing sunscreen?

The mTOR/IGF-1 thing, as a layman, seems kinda difficult to navigate, since on one hand it seems connexted to cellular aging, but on the other hand, low IGF-1 levels for example are correlated with worse skin quality, worse brain health, lower muscle tone, etc. so you can’t just nuke it. I think one strategy many emply is to just undergo feast and famine periods to restore cellular health during the fasts and otherwise eat as they would normally

a) Raw meat contains small amounts
b) I consume a good amount of hydroxyproline in my diet, so I don’t need as much vitamin C to hydroxylate proline for collagen
c) I don’t consume many carbohydrates, so I don’t need as much vitamin C

Wait so why no fruits, wont the fiber in them stop your blood sugar from rising?

Whole fruits are significantly better than fruit juice. I just don’t eat them personally. I can admit that I have something of a fear of eating most carbohydrates so I do not do so even in cases where the effects would probably be negligible, like eating some berries or an apricot.

Carbs are anti stress and anti cortisol and help you sleep at night

What are your fat source, and thoughts on pufa?

the last time I allowed myself to eat carbs beyond those naturally occurring in glycogen or milk(a few years back) I was forcing myself to vomit in the backyard like a bulimic teen girl so it was not very anti-stress for me

Fat sources are ruminant animal body fat, butter, milk, cheese, egg yolks. That is it. I try to keep pufa to a minimum and aim for mostly SFA and MUFA
