We're in the second half of this decade and the 2020s so far have been one of the most shit decade for movies, maybe not as bad as the 2010s but if this shit keeps up it will be for sure.
Theres nothing good to watch so I've compiled a list of my top 5 movies, I think you should watch, so check them out whenever you're bored.
1.) American Beauty (1999):
My personal favourite. A suburban satire following Lester Burnham, a cucked 42 year old Norwooding oofy doofy father experiencing a midlife crisis. After becoming infatuated with his teenage daughter's jb friend, he rebels against his Whore wife and shallow existence and pursues personal freedom.
2.) Office space (1999):
Wageslave, Peter Gibbons hates his soul-sucking job at software company Initech. His Whore girlfriend convinces him to go see a hynotherapist and he's put in a permanent state of bliss. After his therapist suddenly dies in the middle of their session, he Neetmaxes and doesn't do shit at work, his Whore girlfriend breaks up with him, he dates this waiter foid, and he somehow convinces his company not to fire him and he continues leaching.
3.) There will be blood (2007):
I don't wanna spoil this one to much, so I'll spare much of the details. It's a character study of a man’s descent into obsession. Set during the turn of the 20th century oil boom, it focuses on Daniel Plainview, a silver miner who transforms himself into a ruthless gigarich oil tycoon. (Best writing, atmosphere and acting on the list)
4.) Whiplash (2014):
Easily one of the best films to come out of the shit decade that was the 2010s in my opinion. Very short film but well written. Seems like a music drama at a first glance but It's a psychological thriller that follows Andrew Neiman, an ambitious drummer at a top conservatory, who is pushed to his physical and mental limits by this infamous abusive baldcel conductor, Terence Fletcher. Instead of the typical "inspirational teacher" slop story, the story is fundamentally about obsession, the main question being whether greatness justifies extreme cruelty.
5.) Requiem for a dream (2000):
The story tracks this junkie prettyboy played by Jared Leto, his Whore Stacey girlfriend played by Jennifer Connelly, and his best friend trying to make money, while the B plot follows his lonely mother’s dangerous obsession with a weight-loss pill that promises her a shot at TV stardom. (Best cinematography on the list.)
