Just looked up the same video, he means that MSE expands your upper or mid third, or both idk and people with a narrow jaw, tend to have a big upper/mid third and a narrow lower third, thats why he says balloon face

I dont know anything about that, or what temandibular joint even means, but it widens your palate and I think kind of “splits“ the maxilla. I think it doesnt do ANYTHING for the lower jaw, but just asked chatgpt and it said this

I just reminded myself of the tm joint (joint that connects the maxilla to the mandible or lower jaw) and yea it wont chance much, it might allow growth becsue of decreased tension but im not sure.

want to clear up some things hear, no MSE does not do anything for the lower jaw (mandible) MSE is a skeletal expansion primarily targeting the Maxilla as found in the name (Maxilla Skeletal Expander) in the video of the man who got MSE he talks about the balloon face from MSE and how it's not good for aesthetics and he says that because the upper jaw (maxilla) becomes unproprotionaetly developed relative to the lower jaw (mandible) to fix that you can just get a mandibular advancement appliance if your young and your bones are malleable of course, like a Mara Appliance, twin blocks, herbst, many appliances specifically found in orthotropics.
