Mud good for skin?

Yesterday I got full of mud on my arms and hands while working and I noticed after showering my skin was smooth and shinny on the arms compared to the rest of the body

Ive always heard about mud masks being good for skin but never tought it would make a big difference, it seems like mud is actually greater than I tought
