Never realised how inhibited I actually was until I started analysing it all, I have what is basically a clinical level of paranoia and my mind keeps screwing me over

It’s sort of a consequence of spending years learning to mask neurodivergence growing up. You end up creating so many self-imposed chains for yourself that you need to unlearn, but your subconscious is desperate to cling to them.

Add growing up ugly and only ascending in ur late teens to that and you’ve spent years having risk avoidance and withdrawal reinforced as not only logical, but imperative, even when it is no longer the case.
