Wtf am I reading. Can some Islamic scholars enlighten me on what this is. @Raja Porus

the Prophet () ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. When the news reached the Prophet () he sent some people in their pursuit. When they were brought, he cut their hands and feet and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron.

They are no different to the east africans who bath in cow urine that they make fun of so much, or the curries that consider cow piss to be medicinal

One more question I had was that Muslims assert that Quran is a complete book in itself and can be read and grasped by anyone, that everything pertaining to Islam is in it, and at the same time argue that one cannot know Quran without reading Hadiths. It's been said by many muslim scholars and "maulvis." too that they also hold that if you follow Quran and reject Hadees then you are a "pseudo-muslim

Yes, they often slander this argument by claiming it was a "tradition" back then.
Then if that is the case you can make the same argument for Hinduism.
Also don't even search for the infant sucking practices or so called "traditions" that Muhammed also participated in.

That's why I don't take the social hadiths like these seriously. Yet the low IQ ones call me a "kafir" because of it.

Yeah this hadith is a specific hadith used for specific people, i.e people of madina for that specific time
This isn't a general hadith meaning it doesn't apply to us now as we already have a cure :ogre:

There are numerous ways to address this

1. The command to feed them camel piss wasn't literal. It was meant as a rebuke. Because if you look into the background of this story, the bedouins behaved rudely towards the Prophet & his companions. In our colloquial language, this would be equivalent of telling someone to eat shit

2. This hadith is unreliable & made up. It doesn't go back to the Prophet

3. It's possible that this was a cure to whatever diseases inflicted people at that time. So I'm not surprised if the Prophet told them to resort to it. He never claimed to be a doctor or anything. In regard to worldly knowledge, he was no different from the average person.

Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by some people grafting trees. The Prophet said, “It would be better if you did not do that.” They abandoned the practice, but there was a decline in the yield. The Prophet passed by again, and he said, “What is wrong with your trees?” They said, “You said not to do so.” The Prophet said, “You know better the affairs of your world.”

This is just dumb

1. Encouraging people to divorce their wife & get her stoned to death for adultery just because the child she gave birth to looks slightly different from the parents would be immoral back then, especially when they didn't have genetic tests. That said, a contemporary Islamic scholar would tell you to go for paternity test to make sure the child is yours. This isn't haram in Islam

2. Raising the children of other people is not cuckoldry. It's one of the most noble thing you can do. Cuckoldry is letting other men sleep with your wife knowingly

But if the system which is used to validate the hadiths allows this material to come through, then the system is clearly compromised & you must extend your skepticism towards "non social" hadiths as well, no ?

That's why traditional Muslims would rather explain this hadith than explain it away

Not really, because the social hadiths generally don't make sense whereas the religious hadiths do make sense. For instance, I don't think drinking camel piss makes sense, nor does a 50 year old marrying a 6 year old make sense, so I reject these kind of hadiths. However the hadiths that tell us how many times to pray, for example, are not things that "do not make sense." Therefore I have no need to reject them. Do you understand now?

The Quran is best understood in 4 ways

1. Understanding Quran with Quran. Inter-textual analysis. This involves both literary & grammatical studies

2. Understanding Quran with biographical information (occasions of revelation)

3. Understanding Quran through the collective understanding of Muslims passed from one generation to another (Sunnah & consensus)

4. Understanding Quran through Ahadith (isolated quotations of Prophet or companions devoid of biographical context)

Quran being a self contained book doesn't mean you can just pick it up & find everything in it lol. It is self contained as it has all the truthful metaphysical & ethical principles

No stonning is too merciful

Only if you willingly adopt a child otherwise cuckoldry

Another unnecessary thread, users just make any thought that comes into their head a thread nowadays 🤦‍♂️
Tbh if they didn't we wouldn't have so much content on here. :ogre:

it worked so it does make sense.
nor does a 50 year old marrying a 6 year old make sense,
Aishah(R.A) never had a problem with, her father never had a problem. The kuffar who hated the Prophet(ﷺ) never had a problem with it so why do you reject it?
However the hadiths that tell us how many times to pray, for example, are not things that "do not make sense." Therefore I have no need to reject them. Do you understand now?
So you pick and choose what makes sense to your limited intellect instead of submitting ?

that everything pertaining to Islam is in it,
no one says that
it doesnt even say how to pray
it tells you to follow what the messenger ﷺ did which we know from ahadith
