It's a pretty good story because the king lowkey incel rages and starts hating women, retarded premise of tweet though sinceim 99% sure that's only the initial foundation of the story, it's like saying Naruto is about a blonde kid who's hated by the village and an orphan and you leave it at that ignoring the other 99% of the story and focusing on that 1%

reading the 1001 nights in the 21st century is so surreal, because growing up, arabs were always portrayed as prude, unsophisticated, strict, conservative, etc

yet when i read the book i was shocked to discover so many passages that didn’t fit that narrative at all. stories of blatant homosexuality, sexual themes, crude jokes and stuff that would make even debauched westerners today blush in shyness

them orientals were wilding back in the day 😭🙏💔🥀

So tell us your point

you said you grew up believing they were unsophisticated
Until you read a story about sex and faggotry from their lands
Then, no longer?

maybe i should have worded it better

arabs historically were always portrayed as primitive camel riding desert dwellers who lived in tents. ofc this is just a stereotype and doesn’t reflect reality at all

but when i read these books i was surprised to discover that many things i was taught about arabs was false. the stories often included themes of knowledge and morality that was quite advanced for their time

stories of jesters, poets and authors openly mocking the sultan which is crazy when you consider many arab countries today are dictatorships and have basically no free speech

it’s an interesting comparisons between the sociopolitical landscape of medieval and modern west asia

you asked me to explain it 🙄

i need to stop wasting my time with trolls ✌️
I'm not even a troll, your explanation just does not explain it well at all.

Look at this

Mire the backtrack? Completely different points, why would i argue against this? It would just be me pointing it out and accusing you of backtracking then you coming up with some other bullshit

"Wait a minute, I don't care!"

the book has hundreds of stories? all with different themes… you do realise that?

some stories were deep and fascinating. others were funny and crude. some were sad and depressing

i was mentioning one part of the book i found surprising which was the dirty stuff because that’s not what i expected from arabs. just my personal experience

Why you found it surprising:

because growing up, arabs were always portrayed as prude, unsophisticated, strict, conservative, etc
WHY did you say unsophisticated
I mean I don't know why I'm asking you obviously can't explain why, or else you'd have to say that in your brain theres a connection between sophistication and homosexuality

i literally explained it in my previous post that you conveniently refused to read. then you try to run circles around an argument i never made

I actually did read it

so how are you still missing the point this bad? this is either the greatest troll on earth or someone with poor reading comprehension
I'm clearly just intelligent enough to understand your tactics to get away with your stupidity and you simply can't cope with that it seems
Incoming ragebait

im a muslim and i never heard of this :dafuckfeels:
well its not just muslims, zoroastrian persians were writing a tales on how their king will bring indians to defeat arabs.
