Living w my dad he pays rent it’s about 1

Also the $200 is split up so it’s 100 goes into car account and 100 goes into savings account maybe I’ll make it higher after I dial in my spending habits tbh

Oh yeah and my wifi bill is 50$ monthly

I use the money jar method to administer my money

1 jar for bills and expenses (Mainly necessities such as food, water, etc., but also rent, electricity, and other recurring bills)
1 jar for long term savings (I use this for an emergency fund after saving up 6 months of rent in advance)
1 jar for education (I use this for Looksmaxxing since my school is paid off by financial aid)
1 jar for play (Spend on whatever recreational activities or possessions you desire)
1 jar on financial freedom (This is for stocks/bitcoin/index funds/etc. for passive income and retirement)
I skip the donation jar cause fuck that LOL and administer this jar's money to the other jars evenly

You can divide the jars into whatever percentages you see fit as long as they all add up to 100%

My splurge account is $1000 for gaming pc
I usually spend $2-3K on a gaming rig, but it lasts me for at least 5+ yrs so it's worth it to splurge on a beast system.

Why didn't your dad buy a small house?

Don't you live in USA? I thought buying a house is number 1 priority for USA citizens

Pretty good. Just remember. Liquid savings isn't the best. I would have 5k liquid cash. The rest should be in investments with returns. Why?

You have to account for inflation of the US dollar. Not the headline inflation. But core inflation which is like 10-14% per year. So lets take 10%. If you got $100 saved today. Next year, it will be worth 10% less. So it would be equivalent to $90 of actual buying power. Which is what matters.

So yes liquid cash is good, but only as a small emergency fund of around 5k - 20k depending on your risk tolerance (ie. more kids/dependents more money in the safety fund)

But yeah. Honestly I would allocate 50% of my first few checks to my emergency fund. Get that out the way, then start enjoying your money and saving for long term investments.
