I can't get rid of that craving by eating sugar either..

It absolutely needs to be aspartame, sucralose etc. or I can't satisfy the urge.

Brutal how I turn into a happy chipmunk with sugar free beverages only

Artificial sweeteners are dopamine receptor disruptors, they make me depressed

Aspartame has phenylalanine that is pre-cursor amino acid for dopamine. I always get a buzz from it and not depressed

It’s the opposite, it inhibits dopamine production and elevates cortisol. It’s shit for mood and causes headache

Aspartame (α-aspartyl-l-phenylalanine-o-methyl ester), an artificial sweetener, has been linked to behavioral and cognitive problems. Possible neurophysiological symptoms include learning problems, headache, seizure, migraines, irritable moods, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. The consumption of aspartame, unlike dietary protein, can elevate the levels of phenylalanine and aspartic acid in the brain. These compounds can inhibit the synthesis and release of neurotransmitters, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, which are known regulators of neurophysiological activity. Aspartame acts as a chemical stressor by elevating plasma cortisol levels and causing the production of excess free radicals. High cortisol levels and excess free radicals may increase the brains vulnerability to oxidative stress which may have adverse effects on neurobehavioral health.

That’s tyrosine phenylalanine is a metabolite of dopamine I think or precursor to noradrenaline which itself is metabolite of dopamine

O yea it gets converted to tyrosine as well I remember. Pea is even sold as a sports supplement on Amazon . Selegiline works through increasing phenylalanine as it’s a last resort before the Alzheimer’s patient goes on L dopa
