My biggest hero is Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He started racing when he was young trying to catch the eye of his father, NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr., who had recently divorced his mother
He didn't pay him much attention, but since Jr's blood mother lost his house in a fire when he was 6 years old, his father earned his custody
He raised him good, without silver-spoon feeding him and making him work for his stuff
He eventually got himself a ride for NASCAR's second division, won two back-to-back titles there, and jumped to the top series in the year 2000.
(his father #3 with him #8)
Everything was going fairly well for both—the legendary father with the superstar son. Until tragedy struck.
In the 2001 Daytona 500, the first and most important race of the year, his father passed away in the last lap.
This seemed like a very rough thing to overcome. Was this the downfall of Junior?
It wasn't.
After this, he went on to win a variety of races that year.
But he peaked when he won the first race back in Daytona after his father's passing.
In front of 200.000+ people and a TV audiency of nearly 30 million live viewers, he rocketed from the back of the pack to the front in the last 5 laps and ended victorious.
Afterwise, he went on to avenge his father and win the 2004 Daytona 500 and later, the 2014 Daytona 500.
Even though he almost died multiple times, his stepmother fucked him up, he got 25+ concussions in his career, his actual mother passed away... He never gave up on his dreams.
With legendary wins such as
and
Amongst many other achievements and records
He'll always be remembered as a warrior
He was elected 14 years in a row as the most popular driver
And he married this gorgeous Stacy and formed a family with her. She loves him and supports him even as an oldcel
You mirin'?!
He is my hero and my inspiration. Deep respect for this man.
