My bite is fucked and my smile is relatively narrow (Deep bite) though luckily i haven't suffered any major recession due to this but am obviously getting orthodontic intervention for aesthetics, want to know what people think/potential outcomes will happen from my treatment.

The first appliance i am getting, which is happening in about an hour from writing this is an anterior bite plane to prevent posterior teeth from touching thus opening my bite for further treatment, will have this application for i think about 9 months im not too sure why my ortho has gone this route considering I'm now 17 and most of development is done, where these appliances really only help in growing patients to allow eruption of the posterior teeth, but nevertheless i will see it through.

Im then getting Damon Q2 braces with Class 2 rubber bands, this is where I'm kind of iffy, I'm not too concerned about actual maxillary retraction because that is hardly possible at this age but pulling my front teeth in could possibly cause a flattened appearance around the mouth and midface, but from what I've looked into i think its not too much of an issue. And hopefully the actual braces will give me the "widened" smile that people praise the Damon system for, although i do hear that its not a guaranteed result and may be slightly for marketing purposes.

Just wanna know if anyone has had similar treatment for a similar issue and what their outcome and results were.
