Obviously, genetics is #1. But because we can’t do jack shit about that (yet… hopefully), it’s pointless to dwell on it.

As for what’s actually actionable:

Health / lifestyle

- sleep, diet, exercise, stress management, etc. As well as addressing any looksminning health conditions. Diminishing returns after a certain point of optimization though. Will also favorably impact epigenetics, to the extent that that matters

Topicals:

- generic cleanser and moisturizer; generic broad spectrum, spf 50+ sunscreen (lotion based is best); prescription strength retinoids (tretinoin or tazarotene)

Medpsa treats:

- co2 laser; (biggest gun for direct collagen production boosting, although microneedling and chem peels are other alternative options)

- botox / dysport / any other alternative injectable muscle toxins; (doesn’t boost collagen, but works complimentary with those other medpsa treatments, specifically in it’s ability to freeze and atrophy overly strong facial muscles that not only cause excessive dynamic wrinkling, but also lead to quicker development of static wrinkles)

- laser / electrolysis hair removal (once again, doesn’t boost collagen, but does eliminate hair follicles and beard shadow, which in turn smooths out the skin and makes for a more youthful appearance)

Going any further than these things, like more sophisticated topical skincare routines or expensive hydrafacials, is not worth it imho (unless you are treating some specific skin condition), because it either overly aggravates the skin and thus leads to a looksmin, does nothing at all, or only marginally moves the needle. So if you’re doing all of the above, that’s basically the highest ROI collagen boosting routine currently available that money can buy.

The only things further you should worry about are:

- underlying weak craniofacial bone structure, which can lead to the premature hollowing, sagging, and/or deeper wrinkling of fat pads and soft tissues

- general aging, and the consequent bone density loss / degradation in fat pads and soft tissues it causes (which will also lead to overall hollowing / sagging / deeper wrinkling).

In such cases, in addition to doing everything listed above for enhanced collagen production, also look into facial osteotomies and implants for more robust craniofacial bone structure + facial fat pad and soft tissue rejuvenation surgeries (like blephs and face lifts).

One other aspect worth considering is body skincare. Body skin is, generally speaking, thicker and more resilient than facial skin. Thus, you don’t need to treat it as diligently as you would the face. Generic lifestyle advice + basic daily topicals use (cleaner, moisturizer, and sunscreen) should carry it along just fine for decades. Laser / electrolysis hair removal would also go far in keeping it smooth and youthful.

If you wanted to be maximalist though (or treat a specific part of the body extra well), prescription strength topical retinoids and medspa treats would obviously still work to boost collagen production there. It will just be much more cost prohibitive to regularly carry out. There’s also rejuvenation procedures for the body, like dermal fillers in the back of hands for volume restoration, or brachioplasty (arm skin lift).

Of course, science is continually advancing, and thus our understanding of skin aging and consequently treatments for it will continue to change with time, so always keep an eye out for stuff like that

One last thing: you should also ground your expectations. Barring a breakthrough in longevity science and therapies, you’re still going to inevitably age. Don’t think you can have perfect newborn tier skin forever. Looking 5-10 years younger than you are is probably the best most average guys can hope to achieve. And sometimes in life, you just have to make your peace with the fact that you’ll lose out no matter what you do. Chad has naturally perfect, model tier skin for decades by simply existing, meanwhile you have to go through all of this just to achieve bang average skin. It is what is it

Tl;dr: Skinmaxxing ultimately comes down to four main brackets: 1. maintaining baseline health, 2. using effective daily topicals, 3. getting medspa treats semi-frequently, and 4. undergoing enhancement / restorative surgical procedures as needed with age

You think Exfoliators provide any benefits for the skin ? Like AHA/BHA chemical ones
