I am not a doctor please experiment with other options anything that happens to you on this is not my fault
This is for anyone who’s scared to get on it (understandable)
This is just my experience on it
Accutane is by far the best thing that happened to me in my teenage years I had severe cystic acne and 4 months later not even finished the course 99% of my acne is gone.
My side effects
Dry lips dry skin slight back pain slight hair thinning.
That’s literally it on 30mg (can get extremely unlucky with side effects but very low chance)
For foids don’t get pregnant you probably already know this and is labeled eveeywhere your child will be deformed and have horrible problems
I wouldn’t recommend higher dosages but it can work you just have to be prepared for the side effects the side effects are 10x worse and relapse rates are only decreased by 5-15% when on normal dosages the relapse rates are low enough anyways.
Make sure you finish your cumulative dosage relapse is much higher if you don’t finish it.
Purging phase
Me personally I barely had a purging phase but I just got lucky most people I know had a bad purging phase but it’s 100% worth it just power through you’ll thank your self later
My tips for Accutane.
Make sure you are hydrated ( around 3 litres of water daily non negotiable) and mositurise 1-2x daily (otherwise your skin will be extremely flakey)
Eat a extremely good diet ( make sure you consume the Accutane with foods with high natural fats like eggs or meat)
Supplements
I would suggest vitamin d3 while on Accutane because you won’t be able to be outside as much thats all that I took while on it.
(Make sure you go to your derm and tell them what supplements your going on)
Any other supplements I don’t have a opinion on because that’s all that I took you can take omega 3 I heard it helps with purging phase If your scared of purging
Lip balm
really important apply every 40-50 minutes depending on how your lips are
Sunscreen
Make sure you apply spf50+ every time you leave the house you will get badly burnt
Skincare
Be careful what “skincare products” you put on your face make sure no acids like salicylic acid etc
Don’t exfoliate on Accutane your skin is extremely fragile and sensitive
Alcohol
Me personally I drank alcohol a few times on it (ntmaxxing) I wouldn’t really recommend usually the side effects get worse and the Accutane itself dosnt work as well
