They hated their own lives (depression, stuck in shitty marriage, poverty, low life quality, no hobbies, no social-life, hated their jobs, etc.) and they shared that stress/depression/anger with me.

I was often blamed by my parents for being the reason their lives are shit. How they are stuck with me now, with no way out, and that they 'sacrificed' their lives for me, kinda thing. With no way out because 'they cant just abandon me'.

Mostly my mom though with the anger and abuse. My dad was more of the silent-depressed-sad type guy. But he has said to me he regrets having had children and only did it because it was 'the normal thing to do'. Get married, have kids, etc. So that's what he did.

Honestly there was no real reason for them to hate me personally, other than me being way below average in looks. Which was mainly their own doing aswell (I was made obese, and wasn't allowed to pick my own (hair)style, clothing, etc.)

I never got into trouble, was an easy kid that never demanded much attention or money, and performed really well in school. I didn't moan/cry, never asked for help with anything, etc.

Which is why I feel so unlovable now I guess. I feel like I did nothing wrong but never got the love I deserved, so I must be broken/subhuman.

I unironically believe that if I was born female or was better-looking in my youth, my parents would've loved me more. There would've been more empathy and I would've been more protected instead of being made to share in their bad feelings.

Like, my parents would never hold back in their fights with each other even if I was around. I would just be made to witness the shitty way they treated each other. And I was often involved in the fighting, made to pick a side between my mom and dad, them trying to make each other look bad and trying to make me hate the other parent.

Wouldn't have happened if they respected me more as a better-looking (female) child.
