Seem's plausible (even if you were joking), Afterall, his ban's towards VIP Users was always over-ridden, Master doesn't want them banned since they spent money, so he decide's to let them pass. Slayer see's this as wrong and he get's demoted.

Eitherway, he was one of the most active admin's, I doubt he will be demoted for long, just a small dispute that will pass.
