My hair is closest to the longest it’s been

I had it slightly longer before, but somehow looked much worse than now. Atm I slick it back with pomade in the morning, and then kinda just part it later. Idk when to cut it. I don’t think I could pull off long hair, nor have the hair type or the patience for it

i dislike the look from the side and the back
from the front it looks great although could look tidier and more symmetrical

What should I do? Trim the back? Push hair behind ears?
This is a grown out buzz cut with minor trimming at the back and sideburns
