My nephew's older brother killed his cellmate

I just found out today. He's not my nephew, but his half brother who's 3, is my nephew. There's a 16 year age gap between them. So his brother is 19 and he's 3. His brother shot someone and has been in a county jail in Texas for about a year. He's been in some fights and last I heard, he went to the hospital because the tip of his finger was bitten off in a fight.


Well today, I heard that he killed his cellmate. On their website, I saw that his bond is now at 1 million USD and he has a new charge of 1st degree murder in Texas.

I don't know yet. He's my sister's stepson and my sister called my mom and told her but she didn't have anymore info. I feel bad for my brother in law. His son could spend the rest of his life in prison if he gets convicted of 1st degree murder. Texas has death row, so he could end up there. I'm hoping it was self defense.
