TLDR: My orthodontist charged my parents thousands of dollars to "fix my teeth and bite" but ended up fucking up my bite even more than it originally was.
So basically when I was a kid I had a sever underbite so the orthodontist installed a herbst device to widen my upper palate and bring my mandible forward.
Example of herbst device:

After the herbst device was removed I still had a recessed mandible and instead of my lower molars fitting together and my lower front teeth sitting slightly behind my upper front teeth, my mandible is actually pushed too far forward and my lower front teeth and upper front teeth are stacked on top of each other, and my molars do not fit together.
Here is an example of how my bite looks after "treatment":

Moral of the story: Never trust orthodontists to "fix" your teeth.
