My partner has literally known she was a "man" since she was 5, but because of deeply religious parents, she kept it inside. After many self inflicted scares, most how her life filled with an incredible self hatred, and moving away from her family, she has finally accepted who she is, something that I fully support. In fact, since she's fully accepted this, I can literally see this weight off of her shoulders, and she's genuinely a lot happier. Shes already had her readiness assessment psychologist appointment and was approved for hormones. She has an appointment in 3 weeks to start the process in becoming who she has always wanted to be. Here's the thing though, her family found out on Saturday what was going on and reacted so horribly. Its been complete silence since then (they used to at least text everyday, even if it was just "I love you") . The longer they go without talk, the more she doubts herself. I asked her if she would be questioning right now had they been accepting and she flat out said no. Shes questioning if going through this and getting everything she has ever wanted is worth losing her family for. I feel so helpless because I don't know how to help.
