I’m going to say a couple of things as proof that I thought about them. There is no structure and limited grammar. There is no way to have any idea who or what is consciousness. There is no more reason to believe a human or animal is conscious than there is reason to believe a rock is conscious. There is no reason to believe in any type of moral code. Morality is completely subjective and there is no way to objectively prove that someone is immoral just like there is no way to prove that a certain movie is good. There is no reason to believe in a god and there is no reason to believe god can’t exist. This could be a simulation or a universe created by a lizard pantheon. AI could be sentient, or maybe it couldn’t. Maybe me and Willem Dafoe are the only truly conscious people in the world.
There is no free will. We are all just flesh computers running on predictable math.
I choose what the purpose of my life is. I will do whatever the hell I feel like. If that involves rape or murder then so be it. Why shouldn’t I?
Discovering these things has given me such a deep sense of peace. It’s insane how so many people are depressed by a perceived lack of something you don’t need in the first place.
So what if there is no greater meaning?
So what if there is no morality?
So what if there is no free will?
People have been indoctrinated by religions to believe these things matter. They may have left the religion but these beliefs remain. Then they feel that something is missing in their worldview. Religious people might appeal to these things, but you don’t need them.
Do whatever you want. Consume whatever you want. Think whatever you want. Say whatever you want. Be happy because happiness is all that matters.
