So everyone here who is dealing with hair loss knows about Finasteride and its potential side effects. I’m going to share what I have been doing to mitigate my chances of developing those effects.
I want to say this is my own personal theory and has no real scientific backing.

Now, to keep it simple I believe using an ultra low dose of topical Finasteride and slowing increasing the concentration of your topical can help your body adjust to a slow decline in serum dht, rather than nuking it with the first 1mg Finasteride pill you take.

After I got my Finasteride prescription, I made a .01% topical solution by mixing 6mg of Finasteride into 60mL of topical minoxidil - I crushed the pills and let the dissolve into the minoxidil. I used that concentration until the min bottle was empty with no side effects.

Increasing the dose - next concentration was a .025% topical, mixing 15mg Finasteride into another 60mL of minoxidil. Used this until the bottle ran out with 0 side effects.

Next step was a .03% solution, then a .05% solution. At this point, the Finasteride has built up in my system to the point where the decrease in serum dht has to be pretty substantial (for a topical) - at this point, I’m either going to go to oral .5mg once a day or keep upping the concentration to a .1% topical.

This may not be ideal for everyone, I figured that even if the low dose topicals wouldn’t stop my hair loss, it wouldn’t matter bc I’m already at a point where a transplant is required in order to restore my Norwood. If you’re just starting to lose hair you might want to start with a high concentration to prevent your temples from getting worse.

Your ultimate goal should be to go from topical fin to oral fin, and then eventually to dutasteride.

I hope this helps someone, I personally decided to treat my hair loss this way because I fell victim to the fearmongering and lost a good Norwood to the reaper bc I put it off for too long.

If this post is all over the place I apologize - I just randomly threw this together while on the treadmill.

pfs isn’t real btw

Get a pill crusher and then put the powder in the minoxidil and shake

Did that obviously, some came out as liquid tho but I didn’t use it out of fear that the dosages might have been fucked out

It’s simple math, use the dosages I put in the post

Gave me shortness of breath. It’s a terrible long term treatment. It works though

Why are you crushing pills just mix the topical fin with the topical minoxidil and call it a day. I’m pretty sure crushing the pills together won’t do anything.

I made the topical fin by crushing the pills and yes it does work
