My thoughts on sugar theory

Did you experiment on yourself with the sugar theory?

  • Yes I did and I saw significant height growth (1-4 inches)

  • Yes I did and I saw slight height growth (0-1 inches)

  • Yes I did but I didn't see any growth

  • No I didn't but I will try it

  • No I didn't and I won't try it

Sugar theory or sugar method is eating lots of (up to 250-1000 g in one sitting) sugar, (generally white sugar is used) to spike insulin which in turn helps with igf-1 release and height growth.

First of all insulin probably won't increase (may even decrease) total igf-1 levels. But it will increase free igf-1 levels due to the reduction of IGFBP-1 synthesis in the liver.
Also having high levels of igf-1 that is stimulated from insulin will downregulate the gh-igf-1 axis so you probably won't get as much benefit from gh and gh stimulated igf-1.

Secondly igf-1 stimulated from gh and igf-1 stimulated from insulin acts differently on the body.
Igf-1 stimulated from gh is long lasting and pro-proliferative, it mainly supports chondrocyte proliferation and doesn't have much maturating effects. (Some animal studies even show it can revert the hypertrophic stage back into the proliferative phase)
Whereas igf-1 from insulin has more localized metabolic effects especially on fat and muscle tissues and is shorter lasting. It will mainly cause chondrocyte hypertrophy or ossification based on the current stage of chondrocytes.
It can even push chondrocytes into premature hypertrophy or ossification depending on hormonal profile, genetics and at what stage you are in puberty because insulin has pro-maturing effects and accelerates growth plate closure.
Which could be one of the reasons why obese people finish their height growth earlier and people with pituitary tumor grow till their 20's.

The sugar method regardless of if you are using AI or not will accelerate bone aging and chondrocyte maturing and ossification rates

Also increased glucose uptake will increase T4 levels and T4 to T3 conversion which will further accelerate height growth and bone aging

There is a possible risk of premature hypertrophy/ossification for people who are in the earlier stages of their puberty and this could end the proliferative phase earlier which would prevent their chondrocytes from proliferating as much. And this would limit their height growth potential because without enough chondrocytes you won't be able to gain much linear growth from chondrocyte hypertrophy.
If ur growth plates are wide open, bone age under 16 and tanner stage under 4.0-4.2 definitely don't try the sugar method.

I think the only possible positive effects would come at the later stages of the puberty when the proliferative phase of chondrocytes are over and chondrocytes start to go into expanding/hypertrophy phase. And by maximizing insulin you could theoretically maximize chondrocyte hypertrophy and this could give you a few extra inches at that last stage of puberty where you try to squeeze as many inches as possible.
So I think only 16-19 years olds whose growth plates are about to close or if some of them are already closed could benefit from this method.
I'd say it'd be pretty much safe to experiment with this method if you are above the tanner stage 4.5 coz u r almost done with your growth.
This will give you one last growth spurt but by the time the growth spurt is over your chondrocytes will reach maximum hypertrophy and be ossified so basically your growth will be ended.

Probably high dose hgh or peptides will still be slightly better but if you are not able to afford them this can be a good self-experiment which you try to gain as much height in a short timespan as possible.
I would start slow and then progressively increase the insulin load and see what happens

Also white sugar may increase estrogen levels (due to the occurrence of chronic disease and inflammation, possible increased body fat storage, lack of consumption of fiber which is crucial for estrogen excretion and also both insulin resistance and insulin itself lower SHBG levels and increase aromatase activity) which would further accelerate bone aging and chondrocytes maturation and ossification rates.
There are many healthier ways to get high insulin levels (e.g: dairy, rock sugar, honey, maple syrup, fruit extracts..)
But I don't know if you'll be able to source as much of them

actually a high IQ thread bookmarked

u can just buy peptides for the same price of the sugar ur eating🤣
