Yeah and in customer-facing jobs you can't BS with coworkers or listen to music. Or you can but only when there aren't customers around

You can't listen to music and bring a phone in at this job

That sucks lol. I used to do manual labor stuff when I were a student and I had jobs where I could listen to music and/or talk with coworkers

Even these low tier jobs have their own tiers. The worst ones are where you have to face customers and also have responsibility (like cashier), while the best ones are where you can do your job on your own without constantly being bothered by your boss or customers. Furniture moving, night guarding, stock-taking etc.

I’ve used to do some of them while I was in high school and they were a lot of fun, bantering with the boys all day while getting paid

the best thing for me when i was working in a food store is all the bananas i'd eat, would take an "expired" coconut, make a hole with a knife, drink the tasty juice out and nobody would ever notice, stash some nuts and then take em home later with some stashed snickers bars.

worst thing was obviously dealing with the customers but i'd just send to admins so they dont bother me.

@Vermilioncore @Zeruel dobbie the house elf shit innit.

these jobs are hard to be taken seriously, whenever I did one of them I’ve seen it like a side mission in GTA , not a proper part of my life so to speak

and yeah lot of them have small perks just like in a video game. Fast food places give you free food, in cinemas you can eat popcorn, guards can browse the internet or do whatever during work etc

+ you start to see customers as NPCs who want to bother you

Can't u get a job as dishwasher or something? Or Uber driver or pizza delivery?

Don't ruin ur health, it's the most important thing in life

Those jobs pay half as much and they make you get fat (surrounded by food all day).
I remember working in restaurants and my pores were getting clogged.

I wear ear plugs, wear five different braces, and will start wearing a mask to mitigate side effects

warehouse should only be viewed as a short term solution whilst you work towards a 9-5 office job (that isnt call center)
honestly for broke and low iqcels warehouse is kind of the only option. retail is low pay and has customers and high expectations, and fast food is just a different kind of hell. delivery driver seems ok but entry level delivery drivers want you to use your own car or bicycle and can be inconsistent.

its tough world out there.
