What is Myostatin?
Myostatin, also known as growth differentiation factor 8 (GDF-8), is a protein that functions as a negative regulator of muscle growth. It belongs to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily of proteins. Myostatin is produced and released by myocytes (muscle cells) and acts on muscle tissue by inhibiting myogenesis, which is the formation of muscular tissue. (It stops muscle from growing)
What else does Myostatin do?
Examples of Low Myostatin in Humans: (West Africans have the lowest on average)
Ever wondered how some kids are so shredded, its cause they lack Myostatin.
Examples of High Myostatin in Humans: ( South Asian's on average have the highest amount)
Examples of High Myostatin animals:
9 Natural Ways to Lower Myostatin
YK11: YK11 is SARM and a myostatin inhibitor, increases Follistatin by a crazy amount, note its never been tested on humans or animals, only been tested on cells in test tubes, it also doesn't aromatize.
Side effects include, T suppression, hair loss, joint pain, acne, liver strain, and mood swings.

ACE-083: ACE-083 is a therapeutic peptide designed to lower myostatin Local Administration: ACE-083 is administered directly into the muscle, ensuring a localized effect. Myostatin Binding: ACE-083 is a modified version of follistatin. Blocking Myostatin Activity: When myostatin is bound by ACE-083, it cannot activate its receptor. This blockade inhibits the myostatin signaling pathway, which normally suppresses muscle growth.

Injecting pure Follistatin: Don't do this, there are absolutely no real sources for this, everything on the mark is 100 % fake. But if you manage to get your hands on the real stuff, this is absolutely the best thing to take to lower Myostatin, and be shredded effortlessly. A lot of people say it doesn't work on humans but their wrong, they are just using fake shit.
Gene therapy to lower myostatin: There is some gene therapy to lower myostatin, but its extremely expensive (25k per shot) and doesn't even have the good of results.

9 Natural Ways to Lower Myostatin
- High Volume/High Intensity work outs - After doing a workout in this fashion myostatin has been shown to decrease around 50 % for 8 hours, my recommendation would be to do 100 push ups in a row in the morning and at night to subsequently half your myostatin levels through out the whole day.
- Full body workouts - Its been proven that full body workouts give the biggest decrease in myostatin compared to upper body or lower body days.
- Anabolic Hormones - Increasing Test, IGF-1, MGF, and GH can lead to a reduction in myostatin levels. Make sure to eat well and live a healthy lifestyle to increase these.
- Lactic Acid - You know that pain in your muscles when you just can't move anymore, that's Latic acid building up in them, Latic acid increases Follistatin as well as decrease Myostatin, so train hard
- Caffeine - Improves Follistatin to Myostatin ratio.
- Epicathenin - Its found in foods like dark chocolate and green tea, it also lower myostatin
- Creatin - Creatin has been shown to lower myostatin, get it in red meat or supplement it.
- High Protein Diet - High protein diet has been shown to decrease myostatin as well, you want lots of aminos acid especially leucine
- Ecdysterone ( 20-Hydroxyecdysone): Best Natural Compound to lower myostatin

Human adaptive evolution at Myostatin (GDF8), a regulator of muscle growth - PubMed
Myostatin (GDF8) is a negative regulator of muscle growth in mammals, and loss-of-function mutations are associated with increased skeletal-muscle mass in mice, cattle, and humans. Here, we show that positive natural selection has acted on human nucleotide variation at GDF8, since the observed...

Myostatin and follistatin polymorphisms interact with muscle phenotypes and ethnicity - PubMed
MSTN 2379 A > G and FST -5003 A > T were associated with baseline muscle strength and size among African Americans only. These ethnic-specific associations are hypothesis generating and should be confirmed in a larger sample of African Americans.

L-leucine, beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyric acid (HMB) and creatine monohydrate prevent myostatin-induced Akirin-1/Mighty mRNA down-regulation and myotube atrophy - PubMed
Leu, HMB and Crea may reduce MSTN-induced muscle fiber atrophy by influencing Akirin-1/Mighty mRNA expression patterns. Future studies are needed to examine if Leu, HMB and Crea independently or synergistically affect Akirin-1/Mighty expression, and how Akirin-1/Mighty expression mechanistically...

Lactate Stimulates a Potential for Hypertrophy and Regeneration of Mouse Skeletal Muscle - PubMed
The effects of lactate on muscle mass and regeneration were investigated using mouse skeletal muscle tissue and cultured C2C12 cells. Male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into (1) control, (2) lactate (1 mol/L in distilled water, 8.9 mL/g body weight)-administered, (3) cardio toxin...

Creatine Supplementation and Skeletal Muscle Metabolism for Building Muscle Mass- Review of the Potential Mechanisms of Action - PubMed
Creatine, a very popular supplement among athletic populations, is of growing interest for clinical applications. Since over 90% of creatine is stored in skeletal muscle, the effect of creatine supplementation on muscle metabolism is a widely studied area. While numerous studies over the past...
