I was pretty much an atheist, but seeing some documentaries and testimonies about NDEs made me seriously reconsider. People that have these experiences often report feelings of pure bliss and connection to the whole universe. There are indications that these things cant be a product of their brains since when these experiences occur brain function is highly unlikely due to the condition of the patient. Also testimonies are pretty reliable since even doctors testify that patients were able to describe things happening far away from them while they were unconscious.

You can get the same experience with psychedelic drugs, I think the dying brain starts producing DMT, so you get a similar trip.

I fried my brain too much in my youth to properly make a judgement on gods existence

Well there were people that tried to recreate these experiences, but they didnt quite make it.NDEs are associated with some specific experiences like life reviews which i dont think they managed to recreate. Also some people claim to have gained knowledge through these experiences that would otherwise be impossible. One really high profile case of a doctor that had NDE, she claimed that she was informed in this experience that her child would die which it did

DMT theory has zero evidence, pretty sure it was just a guess some neuroscientist threw out in a book decades ago. Ketamine is much more similar to NDEs vs DMT from reports of people who have done both

plenty of stories about encountering demons/watching someone's life movie/meeting your dead relatives during a drug trip do exist+ the massive discrepancies between different NDEs indicates they are random hallucinations + people grifting off NDE (same thing about people claiming to speak a language they never spoke(not a single verifiable case))

debunk concluded WR%Any: 3 lines.

Well even if you can recreate thes experiences with psychedelics, which i am not sure how do you explain these experiences occuring during periods in which brain function is higly unlikely?

so you are pagan now or what

they do not occur "during", they occur either before or after as the patient slowly regains consciousness and due to time perception being fucked you interpret the event longer than it actually was.

Not really sure as i havent really done an in depth research but it made atheism to me really questionable

Ok then what about doctors testimonies claiming people could describe things happening far away from them while unconscious? Do you think they are not trustworthy?

show me these reputable "testimonies" that are totally not a "I heard it from a guy who heard from a guy who heard from the son of nephew of this other guy" forged by people with agendas.

Thats the one i found on chat gpt but there are a lot of researches with many cases.

Dr. Pim van Lommel's Study: In 2001, Dutch cardiologist Dr. Pim van Lommel conducted a study involving 344 cardiac arrest patients across 10 hospitals in the Netherlands. One notable case from this study involved a patient who reported an out-of-body experience during cardiac arrest. The patient accurately described specific details of the resuscitation process, including actions and instruments used by the medical team. These observations were later corroborated by the hospital staff present during the resuscitation. This case suggests that the patient's consciousness perceived events from a location apart from their physical body during a period of clinical death.

couldn't find a study besides the website you pulled this paragraph from and it's source is "trust me bro" + the guy wrote multiple books on the topic so the financial incentive to lie is there + apparently this guy "studies" NDE despite being a cardiologist so he's as informed about the brain as the common man.

There are other studies, but i suppose you will call them liars that do it for money?

I wonder what you'll think when you learn about esoterics, and that you can literally separate your soul and fly in the astral plane (I haven't done this, I'm not interested)

Put yourself in a life threatening situation and you whole life will immediately flash before your eyes...

Not in the same way, people claim that they go through their life experiences but from the perspective of other people, they get to see how their decisions affected other people, the negative and positive impact they had on others

humans are meant to have spiritual and profound experiences every now and then. even with substances that grow on this earthly earth.
