i’m looking to get marpe and i have a narrow palate and deep bite, but i don’t think they would consider me for marpe + braces as my case isn’t severe but still bad, they will probably just put me on braces that retracts my upper jaw to align which is something that i’m trying to avoid, any way to guarantee getting expansion. can post pics of jaw/palate

Ask directly,

If they say no, find a new orthodontist.

If they're hesitant on giving you an RPE, they're probably gonna fuck your shit up anyways.

i mean they might have different opinions to the dentist i’ve been going to, the main concern of the dentist is my deepbite and they say i have hardly any crowding which is only true to an extent you can see from the pic my mandible is obviously too small idk why the dentist is coping

RPE won't fix your mandible, only maxilla. But,

Who gives af what your dentist thinks, only go to a dentist for fillings and checkups.

If you want it done right just call offices, "hey do you guys offer RPE for adults?". If they do book a visit and directly ask, most dentists/orthos are bluepilled cucks who parrot "Muhhhh functionality :feelsuhh:".

I am genuinely so serious, if they're good at it, they will literally give it to you if you directly ask. If they're hesitant, they're likely not experienced in it, and only use it for more extreme cases.

cheers mate, got an appointment with an ortho that the dentist referred, if they don’t offer anything then i’ll look around, what do you think i should following expansion to correct my bite?

I don't know, I'm not an ortho, nor do I have your scans.

However, if you happen to find a proper ortho, they could tell you how to go about it better than anyone on this forum could.

Send pic of your palate

send me a picture of your front bite, right bite, left bite, and upper and lower arch

tell them straight up that you don’t want retraction and that your main concern is transverse deficiency (narrow palate, deep bite, airway, etc). you gotta make it sound like your goal is functional improvement, not just aesthetics mention stuff like feeling of crowding or lack of tongue space, nasal breathing issues or airway constriction, tension in jaw or headaches from bite misalignment. that way they’re more likely to justify expansion as a medical/structural fix instead of just aligning teeth. also, if they say you’re not severe enough, ask specifically about MARPE vs. DOME vs. clear aligner-assisted expansion. even if they deny MARPE, there’s sometimes hybrid expanders or light surgical options that work for borderline cases.

try to over exaggerate and make it seem that you have it way worse and if they say no just find a new one
