I’ve accepted a long time ago that if I want to have a happy life, I’m going to need a couple surgeries. It is impossible for me to be happy with my life when I look the way I do, so I require surgery in order to make any sort of progression through my life. However, I’m an extremely anxious and risk-averse person with “abused dog” syndrome. I’m basically a big pussy when it comes to things that scares me, and surgery is at the top of that list: surgery scares the absolute shit out of me.
So I wanted to ask to anyone who had the balls to go through with your own surgeries, did you feel the panic I feel right now as my first surgery is starting to materialize and become a real thing that’s happening? How did you deal with it, and what stopped you from pussying out? I logically know that surgery is going to massively improve my life, but when it comes time to actually physically do it, I know my body will want to refuse, but my heart wants to do it.
