I don't know if this is just me

Also I'm not talking about colored contacts I'm generally talking about normal contacts for vision

Recently me vision turned into shit and I bought both glasses and contacts

Being lookspilled I obviously wore the contacts for the first time

And guess what happened?

Before telling you I want to say my eye area normally is beautiful, serious, good PFL, nice eyebrows, low UEE, fairly compact.

But when I wore the contacts then looked in the mirror my eyes looked like a bugs..my eyes were so big and the colored part & pupils were so big

Like this.

MY own face scared me. That was the ugliest eye area I've ever seen.

INSTANTLY took the contacts off & it went to normal.

And keep in mind this happened BECAUSE of the contacts because as I explained before my eye area was never like that normally.

Now I wear glasses at home and I don't wear anything outside I just go out there blind like a motherfucker.

I also wanna say the doctor gave me two contacts when I was getting them prescribed.

Different contact on one from another brand, then a contact from another brand on the other eye.

One eye the contacts felt perfect and I could move it around without feeling it at all, literally almost.

The other one I could feel it while moving and it wasn't a pleasant experience.

But the doctor prescribed me the one that hurts because "it's more appropriate for my eye type"

I'm not sure if this bug eye thing would have happened with the other contacts, someone knowledgeable on this tell me. But wearing contacts made my eyes ugly as fuck.

Then I literally took the contacts off anyway and my eyes went back to their normal, which is literally HTN tier eye area and I'm not even joking btw.

My HTN tier eye area with appeal looked like scary uncanny LTN bug eyes, thanks to contacts.

Never again I'll wear that shit.

But bro I don't see this shit happening with other people? What's the difference between the contacts I got and theirs?

Like why do I get the shittiest luck nigga

I go outside without contacts now. I can't see shit but at least I look good. Might even start wearing glasses outside if I decide it's not that big of a looksmin.

Btw I also wanna say the contacts also made my skull look big as fuck

(from my vision of course jfl, I saw my own skull as big compared to if I were to wear glasses or with my normal vision, not as in contacts made my skull grow)

so it definitely affected some shit. Like my eyes looked and were bigger than usual. Also I saw my own skull bigger too. When of course putting won't change shit for your skull.

glasses and lenses are scam
to restore vision you should do eye exercises
and have thin blood so blood could circulate in this area and hydrate eyes

Nah i respectfully disagree
blue contacts turn my eye area into a psl god candidate bc of the shape , compactness and low set dense eyebrows

1. Why your eyes looked “bug-like” in the mirror

  • Contacts sit directly on your cornea. Unlike glasses, they don’t shrink or magnify your eyes for other people.
  • But for you, looking in the mirror, your brain has just switched to a new way of processing visual input. The sharpness + altered focal plane can make your own eyes seem enlarged, even if they’re not.
  • Combine that with pupil dilation (sometimes contacts dry your eyes or alter how light enters), and it can give the effect of “bigger pupils/iris” when you glance at yourself.

So it wasn’t that your eyes actually got bigger — it’s perception and light reflection.

2. The difference between the two brands you tried

  • The one that felt comfortable likely matched your corneal curvature and oxygen flow better.
  • The one that felt scratchy but was prescribed could’ve been chosen because your doctor measured your corneal base curve and determined it “fit” more medically. But comfort vs. fit can clash depending on brand material.
  • If a lens is too tight or too flat, it can slightly change how your cornea looks while wearing it (reflections, sheen), which might add to the “alien eyes” effect.

3. Why other people don’t look weird in contacts

  • Most people adapt fast. Their brain normalizes the look.
  • Some have smaller prescriptions or naturally less pupil dilation under contacts.
  • You might be extra sensitive to small perception changes (being “lookspilled” makes you hyper-aware of micro-changes).

4. The skull-looking-bigger thing

  • That’s classic perception shift. Glasses lenses distort the world (minus lenses shrink it, plus lenses enlarge it). Contacts don’t distort, so when you switch, your brain notices differences in scale.
  • So yeah, your skull didn’t change — your brain just compared the undistorted contact view to the “distorted” glasses view and freaked out.

✅ Bottom line:

  • Contacts didn’t actually make your eyes bigger/ugly.
  • What you experienced is a mix of visual distortion differences, lighting reflections, and maybe a poor lens fit.
  • If you go back and insist on the brand that felt comfortable, you’ll probably avoid most of this.
