This isn't really the same thing tbh. Getting an extra piece of hardware for your PC isn't the same as buying an extremely expensive VR headset JUST so that you can play a few specific games. A VR headset that will only work if you ALREADY have a state of the art PC in the first place. Then on top of that lots of people get sick of playing VR. Then there is the general annoyance of setting everything up.

Tbh I think even a half-life game won't be able to sell people on VR. I thought VR was super cool when I bought my Rift but I never use it anymore simply because I hate fiddling with the setup/sensors and because I can't use it for more than 40 or so min before my eyes become super dry and start to hurt.
