Niacinamide usage

I have niacinamide + zinc from the ordinary, and when I've tried it i literally develop milia-like spots and a rash on my face, what do I do, how do I apply it and does it actually help against acne? For reference I use a super simple milk-based cleanser before and a tallow-based tinted spf after with like five ingredients (honeycomb, tallow, cacao, etc)
