Yeah, East Indians and Chinese were a big import into the Carribean Islands during Slavery. I think I have some indian in me because my mom looks identical to an indian woman, most people my mom meets assume she’s Indian.

Interestingly these people were never made slaves. Indenture was harsh, but legally it was different from chattel slavery. Indentured Indians and Chinese had contracts could eventually own land, and were considered "free" after their term while blacks were made slaves for life.


The justification I've seen is that British and Dutch considered blacks to be so uncivilized and low iq that the dutch thought they were like farm animals not capable of being on their own and devoid of conscious thoughts so they were considered to be a commodity/property like cows ,pigs, sheep
