To start a new company there's two things you can do.

Either follow another person's business model  exactly, and operate on lower margins
Or copy the business model, but make one small change that'll get a lot of people to come to you. An example is with commerce, and the first person who used the idea of as you're checking out.. "would you like this too"... where customers would order more stuff --> this got implemented in Mcdonalds/KFC/etc

Or copy the business model, and find some ways to be more efficient/ fix potholes or things the other business overlooks. Every small thing adds up

Finally, if you have big bucks. You break into an industry and are at the front of developing new advancements/technology. This is like how Musk did EVs in Tesla with his engineers.
This will mean you get most the market, but I'll tell you who really wins. It won't be the 1st person who broke into and had to do all the legwork.
It's the 2nd business you copied all the findings from the first (e.g. in this case EVs from China, who are also opersting on lower margins)

Business is all about fixing a problem for somebody. You do this through a service/product/etc. But hwo good your business is, is relative to other businesses. Why would somebody go to you?
This is where you must either reduce cost relative to other businesses, increase efficiency relative to other businesses, fix potholes other businesses haven't, be more creative than other businesses, or if you have enough money break through an uncharted territory (you likely won't be able to do this unless multimillionaire).
