I had horrible cystic acne when i started accutane 82 days ago. Since then my acne has improved a little, but it’s still very bad. I was hoping my skin would be atleast close to completely clear at this point. When do you think it will actually start clearing up?
I started with 30mg and upped it to 40mg after like 60 days. I’ve been eating clean and taking it with fatty foods.

doesnt accutane take 5-6 months to actually start working? around 3 months youd still be in the purge stage right?

seeing all acne gone after just 1 month on 20mg accutane is unheard of. 20mg is literally a microdose
It’s quite common actually. You clearly haven’t looked into accutane too much

no 20mg for 1 month is not enough to stop acne, unless your friend is a 5'2 manlet then 600mg of isotretnoin is not enough to sufieciently halt sebaceus gland production. Its literally unheard off anacdotally- if you can link me a single account online that has had cystic acne and went away with this dose in 1 month then ill consider it. Ur body needs to absorb around 8,400mg in total over the entire treatment. I would know- im literally on a accutane microdose rn:cautious:

Accutane is dosed based on body weight usually around 0.5–1 mg per kg per day (sometimes up to 2 mg/kg), aiming for a total cumulative dose of around 120–150 mg per kg, with weight mainly used to calculate dosing rather than being directly affected by the drug.

For each kg you should have a certain amount, the bigger you are the higher the dosage.

Just move up to 60 or 80mg, the faster the better.

Mark this as solution

I've been on accutane for about 6 months.. progress was a little slow but started to see improvements after about 2 months. My acne was never cystic. It was just a few pimples maybe about 1 pimple a month or so.. im only on about 30mg. I would say you should up your dose and be patient. I'd say 60mg should probably be a good spot for you and just be patient... dont drink and rape your liver on high doses..

Over for anyone using anything sciencecels promote (aka accutane and other shi popular here)
