"Minoxidil makes you retain water because some of it enters your bloodstream, even topically"
That’s total bullshit when we’re talking about topical minoxidil. Absorption is microscopic, like putting a drop of bleach in the ocean. I promise you’re not gonna bloat from that.

"Okay, but even 1.4% is still something, might as well cause bloating, right?”
No. 1.4% of the applied dose means the systemic exposure is so low it’s practically irrelevant compared to oral use. The occasional puff-up. That’s from oral dosing, not topical.

“But there are horror stories! people getting bloated from minoxidil, so clearly it happens!”
Those usually come from fucked-up misuse: slathering too much, applying to broken skin, covering with tight caps, or giving it to babies by accident. That’s far from standard adult use.

“Fine. can you show me a study that backs up that topical use doesn’t cause systemic accumulation even with multiple applications?”
Sure, they tested it. Frequent applications to the scalp don’t pile up in your blood. So unless you're doubling or tripling the fucking dose, you're fine.
