Excluding the severe non verbal autist who needs a maid to wipe their bum
Anecdote: There have been several occasions where ive/friend has revealed that im a diagnosed autist to others and the way they treat me takes a complete 180. Generally going from how you'd treat any otherwise nt person/'picked on' to pitied/patronised/coddled - its almost as upon revealing that information it turns on the virtue signal/protect self image/doesn't want to be seen as bad person infront of others switch in their brains in real time. There have also been several times where I've worked with colleagues just for them to randomly call me out for being awkward to my face like 6 weeks in (something you probably wouldn't say to someone you know is on the spectrum as its a given with the condition)
Normgroids larping as mentally ill for attention has actually worked in the favour of spergs bc it completely blurs the line between a dorky nerd/attention seeker (otherwise nt) larping as an autist and an actual sperg. Subconsciously the nt can pretty much always discern between an actual sperg and a normie, as the sperg's mannerisms/social cues will always be slightly off but unless directly told their initial presumption should generally be 'this guy is weird' 'there's something a little bit off about this guy' and not 'this guy is on the spectrum' the former considered a mentally healthy nt person (and treated as such) and the latter mentally disabled (ostracised/patronised/coddled - sped abused dog malnourished puppy toddler treatment)
In a way you can discern where you land on the spectrum by how normies intially treat you
normally - you pass as a nt
bullied/picked on/ignored - come across as nt but 'weird' (probably also ugly/ungroomed)
coddled - its bad
controlling for iq and looks also helps, the high iq handsome sperg will be halo'd and have an easier time masking but that goes without saying.
