When the Manchurian city of Dalian/Port Arthur was under the rule of Romanov Russia, a photo was taken and it showed the Chinese police officers as a similar height, sometimes even taller than the Russians. Proving that even when China was a rural and agrarian country, northern Chinese were similar in ehgith as most white people.
