Hey guys, does anyone know how long minoxidil can be used by itself before its needed to add in fin or dut? Im 17 and my left temple is getting absolutely fucking destroyed with miniaturization, but im not even done with puberty, is it realistic to think minoxidil can hold off the norwood reaper until 19 or so?

Use it for life daily and perfect adherence it might be enough on its own tbh

Really? I heard that with male pattern baldness, minoxidil only works at first, but loses its effectiveness as you continue to expose the hairs to DHT. I just wonder if it can buy me a couple years, or only a couple months

Im also planning to use it 2x a day, and I use ketoconazole shampoo as well but not sure how well that works

Well it can promote hair regrowth but scalp dht is still there so hair fall wont stop

fuck no ur 17 the hair on ur temples will slowly fall out for every month ur not on a DHT inhibitor with minox ur not attacking the root cause aka DHT

It really depends if you are lucky enough i have noticed crown thinning when i was 18 and i waited a year and a half before starting fin my dad doesnt have MPB or any family member in that matter but my maternal uncles do have it so i think my hairloss gene wasn't that strong iam now nw2 at 21 and i have only used min for a short time when i head you gotta keep using it or the regrowth won't stay so if you can hold onto that hairline nw2-nw3 then use min for now if it goes past nw3 hop on

No when i started taking it in nw2 my temples were in bad shape and my crown started thinning i honestly thought i would get to nw3 in a year but it stayed the same thin hairs around both temples started falling off and started growing back i saw regrowth in those places and crown got thicker so even tho i have lost hair density i got most of it back and my hairline didn't recede further

You max out gains at 1 year then you have to keep using it for mantainance , ur hair will still fall if you dont use 5ari and u have aga
