Let us leave aside the aberrant cases of people so unfit that they lack the potential physical strength, skill, and mental stability to survive and succeed.
If you are without food, you can become extremely aggressive and solve the problem. If you are ugly, of course, you can still fuck (paying or being again extremely aggressive), completely detach from the self and continue with your life, but you cannot solve the problem.
I mean, the "purpose" (philosophically speaking, not actually a purpose) of life is just to replicate itself (actually to replicate genes). To do that, you have to remain alive enough to mate with someone and ensure the growth of the offspring. This is reflected in our needs as human animals; 1) we want to remain alive (even if we are the only animal that knows that rope is better), 2) we want to fuck, and 3) we want to have a relationship(s) that can actually allow for new life to succeed. If you are not attractive, you cannot really have 2 and 3. In particular, you will never experiment 3 without a massive dose of copium (e.g., betabuxx).
