Every time I snap a picture of myself smiling, I notice something off about my otherwise decent looking face. I hadn't exactly been able to pinpoint the flaw until recently, and I've gone neurotic trying to figure out how to fix this flaw but to no avail due to a shocking scarcity of information present on the internet regarding the subject matter.
After a week of obsessing over this shit, I feel like I've reached an intellectual dead end and it's hard to cope with.

Anyways, if you are wondering what the damn flaw is, allow me to introduce you to what I like to call a "reverse Donald duck" smile.

It's the opposite of the whatever the fuck Donald duck is rocking.

This kpop idol who goes by the name Do Kyungsoo happens to be cursed with it, although it does not look as bad on him as it does on me since his more feminine features compensate for this failo and maintain his cutecel appeal.

If you want a pictorial representation of how damaging it actually is to my facial harmony, look no further than Natalie Portman.

Granted that she is past her prime now, she's still an 8+ on the normie scale and her rating gets knocked down by a solid point or two (like mine) owing to that nasty grin. While my smile may not be as gummy as hers, the center region of my upper lip droops down even lower exaggerating that "m" shape even more.

There are a number of things that could be causing this including, but not limited to a marginal maxillary recession, narrow upper palate, narrow lips, long philtrum and overactive facial muscles. However, none of the aforementioned factors keep me up at night besides the facial muscle pill because that's literally the only unfixable (pretty much) factor out of them all. A botox or a muscle repositioning/removal/denerving surgery (maybe even a subtle lip lift) might help address it to some extent but facial muscles are numerous, small and unpredictable. Even getting a simple botox in that region is a high-risk undertaking that can only be trusted to the most skilled practitioners.

As I stated earlier, I've reached an intellectual dead end, and I don't know where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

that's called a gummy smile, idk what it's caused by though. another thing those two pictures have in common are a lot of teeth showing. they both have 12 tooth smiles, whereas the ideal is 10, most people get away with 8 though. damn nevermind im retarded i didn't read the last stuff

I was talking about the weird "m" shape that the upper lip contracts into when smiling. I have that minus the gummy part.

Only one reply? Brutal reachpill.
