In pop culture generally there is 1 or 2 memes in trend depending on country but most of the times the memes are global. There are niche specific memes which only makes people in that niche laugh (obviously).
So it is obvious that normies that aren't naturally funny will try to repeat what they see online and try to be funny but, because of the fact that they are not funny at all it ruins the experience for many. In soycity there are many roles you can take to be acceptable being funny is one of them but in 2026 it seems like there are wayy to many people trying to take that and they fail miserably, nothing i see online especially on tiktok makes me laugh. It's all the same bs over and over and over and over again. If you genuinely consume and enjoy these "memes" you are the perfect candidate for modern brainwashed soycity.
Tldr: pop culture memes are painfully repetitive, low-effort, and unfunny because too many normies are desperately trying to be funny by repeating what they see online.
