Most people with down syndrome are males.
Most deformed people are males.

Theory: nature tries to eliminate the gene so it gives it to the male because males do not select their mates; they are selected.

Why do you think almost every society or religion would be so harsh on women? cant be coincidence

Yes, this is a corollary of a greater observation that women tend to be more similar to each other than men are. In other words, women tend to cluster more tightly about the averages of their various qualities while men tend to have a more spread out distribution. Its also why there are so many more male geniuses than female geniuses even though according to some measurements the average woman has a higher IQ than the average man. This is, as you said, a result of sexual selection and women being the gatekeepers of sex.

it's just that the Y chromosome has higher mutation rates mainly due to the environment in which it is stored (testes), plus it does not recombine during meiosis so the process of natural selection is hindered and thus maladapted genes can be propagated to the next generation (sons). Nature is shit, eh.
