You ever speak to most people and get the impression that they never really think anything through?
I spoke to an Indian girl and asked what was going on with the videos of indian guys getting hit by trains while taking selfies, and she had nothing of insight to say. Just "yeah, that's crazy"... that's crazy? is that it?
For those living under a rock, this is what I'm talking about:
She spent her whole life in India, probably seen half a dozen viral clips of indian guys getting splattered by trains and never once thought about why this peculiar behavior was taking place in her country.
Think about day to day people, and how everything they do is on autopilot, even major life decisions.
Like, go up to some boomer and ask "why did you get married?" and they probably wont have anything insightful to say, like "oh, it just felt right", "well, that's what you do"
They wont say something like "Well, the point of marriage is to increase the cost of breaking due to social pressure from friends and families to help us stick together. This in turn gives a more stable and secure environment for children" - even if you disagreed with this sentiment, you can at least tell this is an answer from someone that has internally debated the pros and cons of marriage, it isn't an NPC answer.
This type of autopilot behavior is all over the place, ask people why people do what they do, and you will see a shocking lack of insight, they never weigh pros and cons up or have internal debates while in the shower.
