The job market for anything computer related is so dead, at least here in America, but I'd imagine it is dead in Europe as well. All the jobs are being outsourced to India and replaced with AI. I went to one of the best universities in the U.S. for computer science and I'm currently making coffee at Starbucks just to keep the lights on JFL. Stay the fuck away from computer science, computer engineering, and data science. Half the people in my graduating class for data science are currently unemployed. Had I known the market would have been this bad I would have just majored in business or economics since my university is one the best rankings for those subjects.

What are some good majors? I just do not want to be homeless, and I do not want something complex like math or engineering.

You can apply to the positions business and economics majors are applying and actually have higher chances of getting hired cause of analytical skills you have

You don't have to work in tech to use your degree

Job market is cooked for everybody, but in the end you are still the better candidate in comparison to some 85iq business major

working in IT was something I always wanted to do but I still have time to choose

so, what should I choose in your opinion (college)

It went from "just learn to code bro" to "just learn to weld bro" real quick

But if you want to have a high paying job IT is your best shot

retarded thread.

it's easier to automate non computer related jobs than computer ones. If software jobs truly get replaced, by the time that happens, all other jobs will be fucked already

It you have no intention of going to grad school or anything past undergrad I would do accounting. Business if a good major if you go to a target school like an Ivy League, for most people though general business has a high underemployment rate. Accounting is less prestige oriented. I will say proceed with caution as I have heard issues of a lack on entry level jobs in accounting, but so doubt it’s as bad as computer science is due to the issues of AI and outsourcing. Otherwise nursing, but the pay and working conditions is okay and not glamorous outside of California and the Bay Area, though you won’t be unemployed.

AI is a part of it but it’s also supply and demand. There are way too many computer science graduates and not enough entry level positions.

I am, I’m applying to mainly data analyst and business analyst roles but that’s very over saturated. Business is already known to be underemployed outside of accounting.

The only way you can get one of these glitched jobs (type of job that sounds cool but you in fact don't do nothing and get paid a lot for rotting in office) is throughout a network, for example if a family members of yours works there or some shi like that

But in a traditional competitive environment your degree is still worth more than any business degree

This is true that networking is very important, but saying a CS or Data Science degree is better than a business degree is like saying a biology degree is better than a woman studies degree. Both are useless.
