I’m currently on Accutane and trying to keep my skincare dialed in so I’m not wrecking my skin barrier while I’m on it.

Specifically want to know what’s worked during Accutane.

What cleansers/moisturizers/sunscreens held up once the dryness and sensitivity kicked in?
Anything that helped with lips/eye area especially.

Appreciate any experience based or evidence backed input.

Okay thanks!

For a simple routine with cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen, do you have any brand recommendations that work well for skin on Accutane?
For cleanser and moisturizing, you can just do cerave, but if you're willing to pay more; La Mer is the most prestigious brand with fun formulas; La Mer cleansing foam and Crème de la Mer

For sunscreen, any product with the specifics i mentioned in the earlier post is ok; COSRX aloe soothing sun cream is a fine choice

Also mark my first post here as solution so that other users can use your experience too, bro
High fat diet since Accutane is lipophilic and works better in fat (i.e. drink it with a glass of whole milk).

Lip balm because your lips will get fucked.

Nothing too stripping since your skin will be dry as fuck - if you get redness then buy 15% azelaic acid (finaceae)

nothing. you don't want to be fukking with anything while you're on isotretinoin. other than mild moisturisers/suncream/avoiding sun. even then that'll irritate. best thing is to just avoid the sun and live with the pain. 8 months or however long it is. deal with it. people swear by chapsticks etc.

i take issue with the "skincare dialled in" - there is no skincare, the iso is doing a lot of work. don't fukk with it. don't introduce other actives. only things you need to deal with sides.

For cleansing and moisturizing, most products are safe including hyaluronic acid, pantothenic acid (b5) and ceramides

When you're on accutane, you should be using stronger sunscreens than before in order to protect the skin more; the optimal choice is spf50+ pa+++ products

Things you should avoid at all costs when on accutane: topical retinoids, exfoliants (aha and bha serums), alcohol-based toners

Like this post if it was helpful and mark it as solution (it's the check mark on my right)
