On Wisdom Teeth, their function/benefits, whether to remove or not etc...

I see plenty of people asking about wisdom teeth and whether to remove them.
this post gives an overview on the basics and actionable steps/advice.

- WISDOM TEETH ARE YOUR 3RD SET OF MOLARS AND ARE NATURALLY DESIGNED TO GROW CORRECTLY IN YOUR MOUTH.
- PEOPLE GET MALOCCLUDED W.T. BECAUSE THEY ARE RECESSED FROM BAD HABITS IN CHILDHOOD, EG MOUTH BREATHING, NOT CHEWING TOUGH FOODS ETC.
- DENTISTS, (MOST OF THE TIME) WILL TRY TO FEARMONGER YOU INTO REMOVING THEM BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM MONEY

WHY SHOULDN'T YOU REMOVE WISDOM TEETH?
  1. Removal causes bone resorption in your dental arches. IOW, YOUR JAW/MAXILLA LITERALLY SHRINKS BECAUSE THERE'S ONE LESS TOOTH THERE STIMULATING IT TO KEEP MAINTAINING ITS SIZE& DENSITY.
  2. WISDOM TEETH ARE FUNCTIONAL AND JUST IMPORTANT A PART OF YOUR BODY AS ALL THE OTHER TEETH ARE.
  3. BY KEEPING THEM IN, YOU RETAIN YOUR FACIAL ROBUSTNESS. (Anecdotal proof: my mom hard-chewed as a child and all her teeth grew in correctly along with 4 wisdom teeth, perfectly straight, no braces ever. And her face is noticably robust compared to other women of her age ie 40-50s.)

AS ONE CAN SEE THIS POOR MAN'S JAW GOT SHORTER AND NARROWER RIP TO HIM

BUT, THERE ARE ALSO CASES WHERE LEAVING THEM IN CAN DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD.
TRY TO KEEP THEM IN AT ALL COSTS BUT IF THESE APPLY TO YOU YOU MAY HAVE TO GET RID OF THEM:

WHEN MUST YOU REMOVE WISDOM TEETH?
  • CHRONIC PAIN IN THE JAW/ IMPACTION ON X-RAY: THIS MEANS THE WISDOM TEETH ARE IMPACTED AND ARE PUSHING INTO THE ROOTS OF YOUR OTHER MOLARS THUS DAMAGING THEM AS WELL.
  • IF YOUR WISDOM TEETH ARE MALOCCLUDED BUT NOT CAUSING DAMAGE TO OTHER TEETH AND YOU ARE NOT ACTIVELY SUFFERING FROM IT DO NOT REMOVE THEM.
  • IF THEY ARE ROTTING AND IT'S TOO LATE TO SAVE THEM, REMOVE THEM. .

HOW TO ENCOURAGE CORRECT GROWTH OF WISDOM TEETH IN ADOLESCENCE:
  • CHEW TOUGH FOODS FREQUENTLY
  • NOSE BREATHE AND MEW ALL THE TIME
  • ENGAGE IN FACE-PULLING WITH A TOWEL (DON'T OVERDO THIS OR ER)
  • THUMBPULL LATERALLY TO INCREASE PALATAL ARCH
  • GOOD HABITS (sunlight, exercise, air, healthy whole foods diet)
ABOVE ALL STAY CONSISTENT WITH YOUR ENDEAVORS. ITS NOT THE ONE DAY THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE ITS THE MONTHS-YEARS THAT ACTUALLY CHANGES THE GAME. DON'T TRY TO HARD-ASS METHODS FOR A FEW DAYS AND QUIT.

Disclaimer: these are not guaranteed to make your wisdom teeth grow straight and neither am i responsible if you get injured doing this. i am not condoning them just giving out objective advice which has worked for MYSELF.

pick out what you can, hope this helped. Loooooove yall as always.;)👍

i dont think we will ever get a clear answer as to whether removing them is ok or not, turns some people subhuman while others look better after removing them

My opinion is that in general removing them causes functional recession of your face. smaller airways, smaller mouth etc...
but your arguement is valid as well, though i think it errs more towards aesthetics and appearance.

eg if your face is too small for wisdom teeth when you are already/almost finished growing, keeping them in not only causes functional issues but may mess with your facial harmony. thus in this case removing them would be the more rational option.

it varies across people a lot

high iq response. i will be getting braces soon and im gonna be trying to convince them to keep all my teeth. also this shit is crazy, theyre trying to tell me i need to remove teeth because they wont fit otherwise but when i look in the mirror i can literally tell its possible to fix my crowding without removing them.
