This is the denim jacket that I bought. Type 3 distressed heavyweight denim
I got inspired from the formal/street causal fusion type looks like denim on formal clothes
As you can see it looks very stylish and dapper and thought I could replicate it too but the problem is my denim jacket isn't the same as the one he has as is not that versatile.
The jacket in the picture is selveged denim with a smooth finish and a dark indigo color. It looks formal and suits well with even tailored clothing. But mine is light blue is distressed and has whiskering all over it..
And when I wore it with pants and a turtle neck it looked off. Like I still pulled compliments but something looked off. My gf told me it looked like i was going to a buisness meeting but stole some rail road workers jacket on the way
And it's true. This is the problem with statement pieces. They look great but pairing them is a skill so just lean into that aesthetic. You can think of each clothing item as a category and then pair it around them. Like this jacket is proper workwear so surround it with workwear pieces like Blacks jeans, T shirts, beanies, boots etc and you could slightly go up and down in formality like flannel shirt or chinos instead of jeans but not too much.
